In Pilar’s Qigong class, we focus on aging well by cultivating mental flexibility, physical stability, and self-compassion through daily practice. Qigong and Tai Chi help move chi (energy) through the body, improving circulation to the muscles, organs, and the myofascial pathways—known as meridians in traditional Chinese medicine. Through mindful breath (similar to yoga) and slow, fluid movement (like Tai Chi), Qigong opens these “meridian highways,” delivering energy that supports immunity, lifts mood, improves sleep, enhances flexibility and stability, and eases joint pain. It also calms the parasympathetic nervous system, quiets the mind, strengthens muscles for better balance, and helps prevent falls. All you need is comfortable clothing and the mindset of a curious learner.
